DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 2018
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME
A COLD DAY WITH INCREASING CLOUDS AND
FALLING PRESSURE…
On a day that began with mostly clear skies,
the afternoon hours have marked the end of this trend.
Northwesterly winds spanned the day yesterday and
this morning, indicating a return to more
seasonal readings yesterday. Today’s pattern appears
to bring colder than average temperatures, with a high of
only 48 F reached by the time of the 1 P.M. observation.
The presence of overcast skies may help enforce this value,
however, with wind speeds shifting easterly throughout the day,
there is certainly potential for relatively warm moist
air moving in from the ocean. Wind speeds have remained modest
throughout the day, but not without notable breezes, with
speeds of 10-20 MPH common throughout the day thus far.
Pressure crested this morning in accordance with the incoming
cloud cover, and continues to fall as of 1 P.M.
