BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA

MONDAY, JULY 6, 2020
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME

CLOUDS GAVE WAY TO SUNSHINE; ONSHORE FLOW KEEPING
TEMPS COOLER TODAY…

A couple of supercell thunderstorms passed the
observatory last night just to the west. While it
was close enough to bring a brief period of heavy
rain, we didn’t get any significant wind or hail.
0.54″ of rain was measured from the storms.

Today started with overcast skies and fog. The
clouds gradually lifted through the morning giving
way to plenty of sunshine by early this afternoon.

An onshore flow however is preventing temperatures
from rising too much, with highs so far only in the
mid 70s.

The high so far today is 73 degrees, this is 7
degrees below the daily normal high of 80F. The low
since midnight is 63F, which is a degree above the
daily normal low of 62F.
