BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA
WEDNESDAY, JULY 8, 2020
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME
MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH MORE CONVECTIVE, PUFFY
CLOUDS IN THE AFTERNOON HOURS….
We observed a thick fog this morning that limited
visibility to a 1/16th mile. It broke shortly
after, leaving a haze that left a visibility of
40 miles at the 1 P.M. observation. Wind was
southwesterly, with an average speed of 15 mph
and a max gust of 25 mph. The more stratiform
and flat layer of clouds seen this morning has
started to become more puffy and cumuliform as
result of decent surface heating and abundant
moisture. Humidity is hanging around 70%, which
is high for a summer day (dew point of 71F).
The high so far today is 82 degrees, this is
a degree above the daily normal high of 81F.
The low since midnight is 64F, which is a degree
below the daily normal low of 63F.
