DECENT VISIBILITY WITH FAIR WEATHER AND
LIGHT WINDS ATOP GREAT BLUE HILL….
Today we observed partly cloudy skies, with
a decent visibility of 70 miles seen at 1 P.M.
Wind was light, but shifted from north to
east-southeast between 10 A.M. and noontime.
Cloud cover increased slightly since this
morning, now covering more than half the
sky. The dew point has remained in the low
60s, making for a bearable midsummers’ day.
A review of 90+ degree days so far this year
indicates a total of 7. Per our Chief Scientist,
Mike Iacono, “the full record mean (1885-2019)
number of days is 6 for the year, but the most
recent 30-year average is 9 for the year, so
it’s increasing”. The most ever recorded during the
year was 23 back in 1949 and in 2002.
