BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA

MONDAY, OCTOBER 5, 2020
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME

COOL, YET HUMID WITH LIMITED VISIBILITY AND
A SEA BREEZE….

Today we observed a limited visibility of 35 miles on
average due to a layer of thin fog in the distance.
Humidity has been high, at an average around 80%. This
is due in part to a light sea breeze from the NE, coming
in at about 10 mph. Skies were overcast this morning, but
the sun broke out around noontime.

The drought monitor was updated on Thursday revealing yet
another escalation. 55% of MA now in a “severe drought”
and 29% considered in an “extreme drought” (approximately
Boston to Providence and points south and east).

-Drought section written by Andrew Swanson

The high so far today is 60F, 5 degrees below the daily
normal. The low since midnight is 53F, which is 6 degrees
above the normal low of 47F.
