STORM DEPARTS WITH AFTER DROPPING RECORD PRECIPITATION
AND SNOWFALL….

The storm system that began yesterday, has finally come to an
end this afternoon. Snow, which fell heavily at times last
evening well into the wee hours of this morning, brought a
total of 14.3 inches of snow. 12.7 inches of which fell yesterday
which was a record for the date, breaking the old record of
11.0 inches set in 1898.

Storm total liquid precipitation measured 2.77 inches,
1.86 inches of which fell yesterday breaking the old record
of 1.30 inches also set in 1898.

Snow finally mixed with and changed to freezing rain and sleet,
then to plain rain for awhile this morning, before mixing with
sleet again late this morning. By early afternoon the temperature
once again dipped below freezing which introduced freezing
drizzle back into the mix. Light freezing drizzle and snow
continued until all precipitation ended between 12-1 this
afternoon. A thin glazing was measured on all surfaces.

Winds were quite gusty for many hours from late yesterday
morning right through early this afternoon. The official peak
gust for the event was 53 MPH, which occurred on a few
occassions overnight.

The high temperature so far today is 34F, this is 1 degree
below the daily normal maximum of 35F. The low since midnight
is 30F, which is 13 degrees above the normal minimum of 17F.
