A HOT YET DRY SUMMER DAY ATOP GREAT BLUE HILL….
We observed 30 miles of visibility on average
today due to hazy conditions. Wind is westerly
with a max gust of 26 mph in the afternoon hours.
The average wind speed is around 15 mph at this
moment. Skies have very few clouds with abundant
sunshine.
Humidity has been dropping over the course of the
day, with a humidity of 35% at the 1 P.M. observation.
This yields a “dry heat”, making weather nice for hiking
considering you bring enough water! Observatory open
’till 4 P.M.
The high so far today is 90F, which is 18 degrees
above the normal high of 72F. The low since midnight
is 69F, which is 15 degrees above the daily normal
low of 54F.
