ANOTHER HOT AND HUMID DAY ON TOP BLUE HILL, BUT STILL
NO OFFICIAL HEAT WAVE UP HERE, YET….

The hazy, hot, and humid conditions continue today with
readings getting into the low 90s for the second day in
row. Unlike many other nearby stations, we failed to
reach 90 on Saturday, as such we have not officially
reached the 3 consecutive days required to be called a
heat wave. Tomorrow will likely seal the deal!

We have likely set a new record high minimum for today’s
date. The low so far today is 69F, the previous record
was 66F set back in 1922 and 1953.

The humidity has definitely been more noticeable today
with the dew point reaching 70F for a time this morning,
and again rising to the 70F degree mark by mid afternoon.
Mixing along with a WSW wind for a time early this
afternoon allowed the dew point to drop to the low 60s.
The wind has now shifted to the S and SSW, thus the dew
point has risen once again.

Winds started off light this morning, but have increased
as we progressed through mid and late morning with gusts
reaching upwards of 30 mph.

Visibility has been limited all day due to haziness, only
averaging 20-25 miles.

The record high for today is 93F set in 1999, however we
have fallen short of that mark today.

The high so far today is 92F, which is 19 degrees above the
normal high of 73F. The low since midnight is 69F, which is
14 degrees above the daily normal low of 55F.
