Blue Hill Observatory Non-Discrimination Policy

Blue Hill Observatory doesn’t discriminate on the basis of a person’s disability. This is true for both employment and for access to Blue Hill Observatory programs, services, and activities. If you have a disability, you may need reasonable accommodations to take part in our programs, services, and activities, or to work at Blue Hill Observatory.

Effective Communication

If you are a qualified person with a disability, we will generally provide appropriate aids and services for effective communication, if you request them. This will allow you to participate equally in our programs, services, and activities. Effective communication includes qualified sign language interpreters, documents in Braille, and other ways of making information and communications accessible to people who have speech, hearing, or vision impairments.

Modifications to Policies and Procedures

Blue Hill Observatory will make all reasonable modifications to our policies and programs to ensure that people with disabilities have an equal opportunity to enjoy all of our programs, services, and activities. For example, people with service animals are welcomed at Blue Hill Observatory, even where pets are generally prohibited.

Requesting Accommodations

If you need an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity of Blue Hill Observatory, please contact Program Director Don McCasland (contact information provided below). You should make your requests as soon as possible, but no later than 14 business days before the scheduled event. Blue Hill Observatory will not charge you or your group to cover the cost of providing auxiliary aids and services or the cost of reasonable modifications of policy.

The ADA doesn’t require Blue Hill Observatory to take any action that would fundamentally alter the nature of its programs or services, or impose an undue financial or administrative burden.

Complaints

Complaints that a program, service, or activity of Blue Hill Observatory is not accessible to persons with disabilities should be directed to Program Director Don McCasland.
