MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH EXCELLENT VISIBILITY AND CHANGEABLE WIND….
Today we observed mostly cloudy skies with an average visibility of
80 miles. The maximum visibility was 85 miles at the 10 A.M. observation
despite a distant smoke layer. The ponds were 2/10ths frozen this morning,
but melted again over the course of the day.
Wind was very variable as it shifted from north to east, and then south
within the course of 6 hours. The highest gust was negligible, and the
average wind speed was 5 mph at best.
The high so far today is 42F, which is 2 degrees above the normal
max of 40F. The low since midnight is 28F, which 3 degrees above
the normal low of 25F.
