BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 2021
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME
SUNRISE: 0525E
SUNSET:  1754E

BREEZY WITH HAZE AND SMOKE ALOFT ATOP GREAT BLUE HILL….

Despite morning fog and hazy conditions for the rest of the
day, we were able to see 40 miles at the 1 P.M. observation.
Skies were mostly cloudy, consisting of stratocumulus clouds
and smoke from the wildfires out west.

Wind was an interesting feature, being almost 20 mph on average
from the south. The peak gust so far today is 32 mph.

It’s quite the warm breeze… Dew points are in the low to mid
70’s. It’s reminiscent of a late summer day and very uncomfortable
hiking weather.

There is some fall color starting to show up in the Neponset
River valley.

The high so far today is 83F, this is 10 degrees above the
daily normal maximum of 73F. The low so far today is 63F,
which is 7 degrees above the daily normal minimum of 56F.
