BEAUTIFUL SUNNY AND WARM FALL DAY…

Today has been unseasonably warm all around, and with a nice breeze
and mostly clear skies, it has been a wonderful day to get outside
and enjoy the foliage.

Temperatures today have been well above normal, beginning in the
low 50s this morning and rising into the low 70s by the early
afternoon. Keep in mind that by this time of year, our typical
high temperature is only in the 50s on the hill! The dew point
has remained nearly steady throughout the day, right around 50F.

A nice breeze has been with us through most of the day, and our
average speed thus far is a pleasant 13mph. The peak gust of 27mph
took place early this morning, just before 3am.

Visibility has been good, ranging between 40 and 50 miles. A higher
dew point compared to yesterday is contributing to some haze.

The maximum temperature so far today has been 73F, which is 15
degrees above the normal high of 58F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 50F, which is 9 degrees above the normal low
of 41F.

As we continue to remain above normal in the minimum temperature
category, we are actively watching for when we will have our first
low temperature below 40F. 2023 is going to end up ranking first
for the latest temperature below 40. The next possible chance for
us to achieve this won’t be until perhaps the middle to end of next
week, at which point we’ll be pushing into early November. Stay tuned!

Here are the current rankings as compiled by our Chief Scientist,
Mike Iacono.
