INCREASING CLOUDINESS AND CONTINUED COLD TEMPERATURES…

The Arctic air mass that moved in yesterday remains in place
today, evidenced by well-below normal temperatures and low
dew points. Initial clear skies have become increasingly
cloud-filled by the afternoon, with a thin broken cirrus layer
being the most noticeable.

Temperatures began the morning in the low 20s, and have slowly
climbed into the mid 30s. Keep in mind, we should be in the mid
40s this time of year! The dew point began the day in the low teens,
and has only begun to rise by early afternoon, signaling the arctic
air mass is on its way out of here.

Winds have not been as active as yesterday, as our average is
about 12mph by this point. The prevailing direction has been out of
the west to west-northwest, and our peak gust of 32 mph occurred around
5:30am.

Visibility has been between 60-70 miles all day, only limited in the
afternoon by some distant virga.

The maximum temperature so far today is 35F degrees, this is
10 degrees below the normal high of 45F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 23F, this is 7 degrees below the normal low
of 30F.
