BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 2020
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME

A CHILLY START, TURNING MUCH MILDER THIS AFTERNOON….

The day started on the chilly side ahead of a warm
front moving through the region today. Temperatures
rose from the mid 20s early this morning to the
upper 40s by early this afternoon, a rise of more
than 20 degrees! All of this happening under cloudy
skies.

In addition to the rising temperatures, the air has
moistened up significantly as well. The dew point
started the day around 20, but has now risen to the
upper 30s by the 1 P.M. observation. Normally you’d
see the relative humidity dropping during the day
(part of the diurnal cycle), however it’s been
rising steadily from 59% at 7 A.M. to 70% at 1 P.M.

Visibility has been rather limited today, starting
the day around 50 miles, but slipping back to 40 miles
by mid morning with increasing haziness.

The high so far today is 49F, 2 degrees above the daily
normal high of 47F. The low since midnight is 26F,
5 degrees below the normal low of 31F.
