CLEAR SKIES, CHILLY TEMPERATURES, AND PERFECT VISIBILITY TODAY….
Other than the chilly breeze today, it’s been quite a beautiful
day. Skies have been clear all day, except for some ocean effect
clouds that have been skirting the coast most of the day. However
the trend has been for less of these as surface temperatures warm
this afternoon from the very chilly values of early this morning.
We started the day with temperature readings in the upper 20s, and
have only recovered to the low to mid 40s early this afternoon. The
dew point has been generally a couple of degrees either side of 20F
most of the day, however it has dropped into the mid teens since
the 1pm observation. This is bringing relative humidity percentage
levels down into the low to mid 30s, which is not good news for fire
danger concerns.
It’s not as windy as yesterday, although it has been breezy at times,
especially during the morning hours. A north-northeast wind has been
averaging at around 11mph for the day so far. The peak gust for the
day to this point is 32mph, which occurred at 9:35am this morning.
Visibility has been a perfect 90 miles all day, giving us a
spectacular view today from the summit of Blue Hill today!
The maximum temperature for today since midnight is 43 degrees, this
is 8 degrees below the normal high of 51F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 28F degrees, which is 7 degrees below the normal
low of 35F degrees.
