BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA

DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2019
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME

VERY COLD FOLLOWING LAST NIGHT’S SNOW….

Weather conditions have been almost clear and dry,
with dew points in the single digits. Visibility
was 85 miles all day. Snowfall yesterday amounted
to a 1/10th inch, with 0.08 inches of liquid
precipitation. Wind has been significant today,
frequently gusting over 30 mph.

Considering the strong cold air advection from
the west, temperatures are well below normal.
The high so far today is 28F, which is on track
to set a new low maximum record. This will replace
the last record of 30F in 1920! The low since
midnight is 15F, which is one degree above the
record of 14F, set in 1920. A very cold day indeed.
