INCREASING AND THICKENING CLOUD COVER TODAY, BUT STILL WARM….
We started the day with a good deal of sunshine, however the high
thin cirrus clouds have increased and thickened as the day moved
into the early afternoon hours. Sunshine at this point is filtered
at best. All of this is in advance of our next system slated to
bring some rain to the region tomorrow.
Temperatures are on the warm side again today with readings reaching
the mid 70s. The dew point has been increasing a bit as well, from
the low 50s early this morning to the mid 50s by early this afternoon.
Regardless, it’s still rather comfortable out there and has been a
nice day overall weather-wise.
The wind is not as light as yesterday, but still nothing to write
home about. The average speed for the day so far is around 10mph,
mainly out of a southwesterly direction. The gusts are starting to
push upwards as we approached the noon hour, with a peak so far of
20mph occurring just after 11am.
Visibility has been decreasing as the day progresses, thanks to both
an increase in moisture and pollen. The view has dropped from around
60 miles early this morning to only 40 miles by early this afternoon.
The maximum temperature for today is 77F degrees, which is 7 degrees
above the normal high of 70F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 55F degrees, which is 3 degrees above the normal low of 52F.
