MORE CLOUDS THAN SUN WITH SLIGHTLY ABOVE SEASONAL TEMPERATURES….
Today has featured a lot of cloud cover, mainly of the mid and
high variety, however some “higher” ceiling low clouds, in the
form of stratocumulus have developed as we reached the afternoon
hours. Virga has been observed as well early this afternoon, but
no precipitation has reached the ground.
Temperatures have finally reached the low 50s by the mid afternoon
hours, which is quite pleasant for this time of year. The dew
point however has generally remained in the 20s which is adding
a bit of a chill to the air, especially with the lack of sunshine.
Winds have been generally on the light side today with variable
directions. The average speed for the day so far is around 6mph.
The peak gust so far is 19mph, which occurred just after the 1pm
observation.
Visibility has been excellent all day despite the overcast sky.
The view reached 80 miles early this morning, but slipped to around
70 for the balance of the day.
The maximum temperature for today is 50F degrees, which is 3 degrees
above the normal high of 47F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 36F degrees, which is 6 degrees above the normal low of 30F.
