CLOUDS AND A FEW LIGHT SHOWERS THIS MORNING, HAZY SUNSHINE RETURNS
THIS AFTERNOON WITH VERY WARM AIR….

An abundance of cloud cover moved through this morning along
with a few light rain showers. Some heavier showers passed by
the Hill to the west and southwest, but here on the summit only
a trace of rain occurred as we were only on the edge. The clouds
have decreased early this afternoon with plenty of sunshine
taking over.

Temperatures are responding quickly to the increased sunshine as
readings have pushed into the low 80s by the 1pm observation.
The dew point was heading upward through the late morning hours,
pushing the 60 degree mark, but has come back down early this
afternoon into the upper 50s as the atmosphere begins to mix from
aloft.

The wind had been fairly steady all morning, but is starting to
increase a bit this afternoon thanks to the aforementioned
mixing. The average speed for the day so far is around 11mph.
The peak gust to this point is 21mph, which occurred just after
midnight.

Visibility was around 35-40 miles all morning, but the pine
pollen started releasing in earnest once the sun came out, and
now the view is down to around 25-30 miles.

The maximum temperature so far today is 81F degrees, which is
9 degrees above the normal high of 72F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 56F degrees, which is 2 degrees above the
normal low of 54F.
