INCREASING CLOUDS, WARM, AND BREEZY ON BLUE HILL THIS AFTERNOON….

A decent amount of sunshine this morning has faded behind
increasing cloud cover this afternoon. Cumulus and high thin
cirrus were the dominant cloud types this morning, but a layer
of cirrostratus has moved in this afternoon, helping to block
the sun and shut off surface heating for now.

Temperatures did warm nicely with the sun we received earlier,
with readings reaching the upper 70s once again.

The wind started off on the light side, but has increased a bit
this afternoon thanks to some mixing from aloft. The average
speed for the day has been around 7mph, but the average the last
couple of hours has been closer to 13mph. The peak gust so far
for the day is around 29mph, occurring after 1pm observation.

Visibility has been limited today with only 15-30 miles being
seen, first due to thin fog this morning, and then general
haziness this afternoon.

The high temperature so far today is 78F, this is 3 degrees above
the normal maximum of 75F. The low since midnight is 57F, this is
equal to the normal minimum of 57F.
