DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY

SKIES TURN OVERCAST TODAY WITH CONTINUED BREEZY CONDITIONS
It was a mostly sunny start to the day at Blue Hill, but an approaching warm
front caused clouds to stream into the region from the west by mid-morning.
Skies have been near overcast since then, with a few raindrops also observed
but no measurable rainfall so far. The temperature quickly jumped into the low
70s this morning, but the advancing clouds have limited the rise from there.
The high so far is 74F. Dew points have hovered just above 60F, an increase
from previous days, signaling a more humid air mass in place.
The breezy conditions of yesterday continued into today. Yesterday’s 17.2 mph
average wind speed was the highest since April 16. A peak gust of 37 mph
occurred yesterday, with 35 mph being today’s peak gust so far, and sustained
winds remaining around 15 mph. The pressure has steadily fallen in advance of
the approaching frontal system.
