SUNSHINE RETURNS UNDER MAINLY CLEAR SKIES WITH MUCH WARMER
TEMPERATURES….
Much better weather has returned today after a few days of cloudy,
cool, and at times wet conditions. Skies were completely clear
through the morning hours with diurnal cumulus developing by early
this afternoon. Either way, we’ve seen full sunshine to this
point. Wildfire smoke is also making an appearance well up in
the atmosphere, but has been enough to filter the sun a tiny bit
as well as give the sky a hazy appearance.
Temperatures have warmed to 80F degrees early this afternoon, which
is a big difference from the past couple of days when we barely
made it to the low 60s. The dew point however remains on the higher
side despite a west wind, with values holding generally in the upper
50s.
Winds have been out of the west to west-southwest today, also in
stark contrast to the past couple of days when it was onshore.
The average speed for the day so far is around 12mph. The peak gust
for the day so far is 28mph, which occurred just before 12:30pm.
Visibility has been somewhat limited today due to haziness. The
view has been hanging around 30-40 miles all day.
The maximum temperature for today is 80F degrees, which is 6 degrees
above the normal high of 74F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 58F degrees, which is 2 degrees above the normal low of 56F.
