BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA

WEDNESDAY, JULY 5, 2023
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME (EST)
SUNRISE: 0413E
SUNSET:  1924E

EARLY MORNING FOG QUICKLY BURNED OFF, LEADING TO HAZY SUNSHINE,
VERY WARM, AND HUMID CONDITIONS….

Dense fog was observed early this morning, but it quickly burned
off prior to the 7am observation. Hazy sunshine has thus been
the theme today, which is a welcomed sight after all the clouds
and rain over the holiday weekend.

Temperatures have risen quite well with readings reaching the mid
to upper 80s by early this afternoon. With a dew point in the
upper 60s to around 70, it’s rather sticky outside today.

The wind has been light for most of the day with an average speed
of only about 5mph. The highest gust so far has only been around
14mph, occurring just after 4:30am.

Visibility has been limited today due to fog early, and then just
general haziness the remainder of the day. Views of 25-30 miles
has been the theme all day after the fog burned off.

The maximum temperature so far today is 88F, this is 7 degrees
above the normal high of 81F. The minimum since midnight is 66F,
which is 3 degrees above the normal low of 63F.
