OVERNIGHT RAIN LINGERED INTO EARLY THIS MORNING, OTHERWISE A MAINLY
CLOUDY DAY….

Clouds have dominated the sky today as a frontal system is stalled
just south of the region. Showers and thunderstorms last evening
into very early this morning yielded a total of 0.16″ of rain. While
it’s not enough to help the annual deficit, it was still a bit of
much needed water for the lawns.

Despite the cloud cover today, temperatures have warmed into the mid
80s, so it’s yet another warm and humid day here at Blue Hill. The
dew point was in the low 70s all morning, but has dipped a bit into
the mid-upper 60s by early this afternoon.

The wind has been mostly steady today except for a brief period this
morning when it went light. It’s been averaging at around 9mph out
of the west-southwest today. The peak gust so far is 20mph, which
occurred at 12:45pm this afternoon.

Visibility has improved from around 30 miles early this morning to
around 40 miles by early this afternoon.

The maximum temperature for today is 85F degrees, which is 5 degrees
above the normal high of 80F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 69F degrees, which is 7 degrees above the normal low of 62F.
