A FAIRLY PLEASANT DAY FOR EARLY JANUARY HERE ON BLUE HILL….
Not a bad day for early January with plenty of sunshine mixing
with only a few clouds, light wind, and mild temperatures once
again gracing us.
The temperature today has reached the lower 40s early this
afternoon, which is above normal for the date. The dew point
continues to hang out in the 20s, so the air is relatively dry.
The wind has once again been on the light side today, with an
average speed of around 9mph out of mainly the northwest. The
peak gust so far is 20mph, occurring just before 12:30am.
Visibility has been limited all day due to haziness. The view
has only improved to around 40 miles early this afternoon, from
around 30 miles early this morning.
The maximum temperature so far today is 41F degrees, this is 5
degrees above the normal high of 36F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 25F degrees, this is 5 degrees above the normal low
of 20F.
As we look back to the month of December, and the year of 2023
as a whole, here are just a couple of stats we can share at
this time. The month of December was the 2nd warmest on record,
and the year was also the 2nd warmest on record. Here are the
