CLIPPER SYSTEM BRINGS LIGHT SNOW OVERNIGHT; INCREASING SUNSHINE AND
MILDER CONDITIONS TODAY…

A weak clipper system passed to the north of the area overnight into
early this morning bringing with it a period of light snow. 1.0″ of
snow was measured here on the summit, which melted down to 0.04″ of
liquid. It was a nice fluffy snow with a high 25:1 ratio!

Snow ended early this morning with clouds lingering through the late
morning hours before sunshine finally took over. All in all, it’s
turned into quite a nice day, albeit on the breezy side. A line of
rain and snow showers is approaching from the W-NW as observed at
the 1pm observation. These will likely reach the area shortly,
putting an end to the sunshine.

Temperatures have warmed nicely now that the sun has come out. Readings
have risen rapidly into the mid to upper 40s by early this afternoon,
making it the warmest day since the 19th when readings were also in the
mid 40s.

Winds aren’t nearly as strong as yesterday, but they are ramping up
early this afternoon from the lighter values of this morning. The
average speed for the day so far is around 14mph. The peak gust so far
is 39mph, which occurred at 12:21pm.

Visibility has improved somewhat this afternoon from the lower values
this morning. The view has reached 40 miles, after only being 20-30
miles most of the morning hours.

The maximum temperature for today is 47F degrees, which is 13 degrees
above the normal high of 34F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 19F degrees, which is 2 degrees above the normal low of 17F.
