THE ARCTIC CHILL REMAINS DESPITE PLENTY OF BRIGHT SUNSHINE TODAY….

Much like yesterday, we started the day with clear skies and plenty
of sunshine, but high clouds moved in early this afternoon, filtering
the sun.

Temperatures remain well below normal for this time of year.
We started the day with a low of 5F, and have only recovered to
the low 20s by early this afternoon. The dew point has been holding
in the lower single digits all day.

Winds have mostly been on the lighter side today, averaging at
around 12mph for the day. As has been the case most of this week,
the strongest winds occurred during the wee hours of the morning.
The peak gust for the day is 25mph, which occurred just before
4am.

Visibility has been somewhat limited all day due to haziness.
The view has been between 30-40 miles.

The maximum temperature so far today is 23 degrees, which is
11 degrees below the normal high of 34F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 5F degrees, which is 12 degrees below the
normal low of 17F.
