A LITTLE WINTRY PRECIP OVERNIGHT, INCREASING SUNSHINE TODAY…

A period of light sleet and freezing rain fell on the
summit of Blue Hill late last evening. Sleet did manage
to accumulate to 0.1″. A thin layer of glaze was evident
this morning on most surfaces. While the precipitation
was light (only amounted to 0.01″ liquid), it was enough
to make things quite slick early this morning.

Clouds were the theme this morning, but sunshine has been
winning out this afternoon. A brisk northwest wind is
making it feel chilly out there despite the temperature
reaching the low to mid 40s early this afternoon.

The wind has been gusty most of the day with speeds
reaching as high as 30mph. The average speed for the day
so far is around 16mph.

Visibility started off the day quite limited, being able
to only see around 15 miles with thin fog. But as drier
air mixes down this afternoon, the visibility has improved
markedly to around 60 miles.

The high so far today is 45F degrees, which is 9 degrees
above the normal maximum of 36F. The low since midnight is
31F degrees, which is 13 degrees above the normal minimum
of 18F.
