MAINLY SUNNY, WINDY, AND COLD WITH STRONG COLD AIR ADVECTION….

A rather strong northwest flow has developed today on the
backside of the intense low pressure system that impacted the
region yesterday. Cold dry air is being advected into the area
on these winds bringing below normal temperatures and lowering
dew point values. On the bright side (no pun intended), it is
mainly sunny out there with only some passing stratocumulus
clouds.

The temperature has been holding in the 20s so far today with a
dew point that’s been dropping into the mid teens. The normal
high should be in the mid-upper 30s for this date.

The wind has been the other story today with frequent gusts of
40-45mph occurring. The highest gust so far is 50mph which
occurred just after the 1pm observation. The average speed for
the day so far is around 16mph.

Visibility has been excellent today, holding between 60-70 miles!

The maximum temperature so far today is 29F degrees, which is 8
degrees below the normal high of 37F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 24F degrees, which is 5 degrees above the normal
low of 19F.
