BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA

DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 2, 2017
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME

LIGHTNING SPOTTED FROM BHO AT 1:00PM EST

Distant showers and lightning southwest of the observatory
were spotted during the 1:00PM EST observation.  The storm
appeared to be moving northeast with no precip. measured
as of 1:00PM.  Temperatures had reached 86F and dew points
were in the upper 60s before falling with the approaching
storm.  Wind speeds increased to a peak gust of 21 MPH
out of the south after a morning of light winds.

The morning hours saw thick fog in the region with the
increase in moisture.  Visibility slightly increased as fog
dissipated, but hazy conditions were still in place to limit
visibility to 20-30 miles.
