MOSTLY CLOUDY AND COOL WITH A LIGHT NORTHEASTERLY BREEZE….

Today was mostly cloudy with an average visibility of 45 miles.
Conditions are cool and relatively dry with dew points dropping
into the mid 50’s. This definitely feels like fall in comparison
to the last couple weeks of July.

Wind is comfortable and easterly with an average speed of 10 mph
and frequent gusts above 20 mph. The highest gust seen so far today
was around 35 mph; around noontime.

Most of the Boston Area remains under extreme drought conditions
according to the National Drought Monitor. Total rain deficit on the
year is 11.17 inches below normal. The trees and plants up here are
showing definite signs of distress, with the trees releasing leaves
early and flowers withering.
