OVERCAST START TO THE DAY, BUT INCREASING SUNSHINE THIS AFTERNOON…
The sky started off cloudy once again today with a gradual breaking
of the clouds late this morning, leading to an increasing amount
of sunshine this afternoon. Temperatures, which spent most of
the morning in the mid to upper 40s, have responded to the sunshine
with readings getting into the mid 50s. This is still cooler than
normal for this time of year however as an onshore wind helps
to keep the temperature on the lower side.
As mentioned, the wind has been onshore all day, starting the
day on the light side, but increasing a bit this afternoon.
The average speed for the day is only around 6mph. But gusts
of around 20mph have occurred early this afternoon.
Visibility has been limited today with the view of only 35-40
miles being seen, thanks to somewhat high moisture content in
the air.
The high temperature so far today is 55F, which is 6 degrees
below the normal low of 61F. The low since midnight is 43F, this
is 1 degree above the normal low of 42F.
