OVERCAST AND WET AS WE CONTINUE TO GET MUCH NEEDED RAINFALL….
It’s been a long time since we’ve been able to say today is a
wet day! Steady, mainly light rain has been the theme since it
began mid morning yesterday. While portions of Rhode Island
has received over 11 inches of rain, here on the Hill we’ve
received a much more manageable 1.86 inches so far.
The rain has been trending lighter as the afternoon progresses,
so it would seem we’re done with any heavier amounts.
Temperatures are being held in the low 60s today thanks to a
combination of rain and a light easterly wind coming in off the
ocean.
Winds have been mainly on the light side today with an average
speed around 11mph. A peak gust thus far of 21mph has been
measured around 9:30 this morning.
Visibility has been limited all day with values of 1/4 mile all
morning, rising to around 4 miles this afternoon as the rain
lightens in intensity.
The high so far today is 63F, which is 13 degrees below the
normal maximum of 76F. The low since midnight is 60F, which is
1 degree above the normal minimum of 59F.
