ANOTHER OVERCAST, CHILLY, AND BREEZY DAY HERE AT BLUE HILL…
Clouds continue to rule the sky for yet another day, however
there are some signs of change as some breaks in the overcast
have developed early this afternoon. Off and on light rain
showers were around this morning, but came to an end by late
morning as drier air works it’s way into the region from the
north. These light showers didn’t leave anything measurable
in the gauge however.
Temperatures have remained on the cool side once again, thanks
to the cloud cover and a continued brisk wind off the ocean.
Readings have generally been sitting in the mid 50s so far
today. The dew point has begun to edge downward however, with
readings getting into the upper 40s early this afternoon.
The wind has gradually backed from the east-northeast to
northeast. It has been gusty once again today with an average
speed of around 14mph, and frequent gusts over 20mph. The peak
for the day to this point has been 36mph, occurring just
before 2am this morning.
Visibility has been gradually improving as drier air moves into
the region. Views increased from around 15 miles early this
morning to around 30-40 miles early this afternoon.
The maximum temperature so far today has been 57F, which is
12 degrees below the normal high of 69F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 54F, which is 2 degrees above the normal low
of 52F.
