THE DRY SPELL CONTINUES WITH MORE SPLENDID WEATHER FOR EARLY SEPT….

With only 0.04″ of rain for the month to date (we’re now 1/3rd of
the way through the month), we have now exceeded 1″ below normal
in the rainfall department. There is currently no rain in sight
over the next week, so this dry spell looks to continue. It will
be interesting to see what the Drought Monitor shows on Thursday
morning for the region.

At any rate, today is yet another great weather day with plenty
of sunshine and near seasonal temperatures.

Temperatures have reached the mid-upper 70s early this afternoon
with dew point values that started in the mid 50s this morning,
but have dropped into the upper 40s early this afternoon. It really
doesn’t get much more comfortable than this time of year, and
it has been a wonderful stretch of early fall weather.

Winds are a bit gusty at times today, but overall not as busy as
it’s been the past few days. The average speed for the day so far
is around 9mph. The peak gust so far for the day is 20mph, which
has occurred twice, first just after midnight, and again during
the 1pm observation.

Visibility has once again been excellent with improving from
around 60 miles this morning to around 70 miles early this
afternoon.

The maximum temperature so far today is 77F, which is 2 degrees
above the normal high of 75F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 56F, which is 2 degrees below the normal low of 58F.
