MAINLY CLOUDY AND COOL WITH A BRISK ONSHORE WIND….
Skies have been mainly cloudy today with a few breaks of sun
poking through at times. It has been a chilly day, especially
due to the lack of sunshine and a freshening flow out of the
northeast.
As mentioned, temperatures have not risen a ton today. The
morning low was in the mid to upper 30s, and we’ve only manage
to recover to the upper 40s through early this afternoon. Dew
point values have generally be in the upper 30s to low 40s for
the day.
A northerly wind veered to more northeasterly by the mid morning
hours. It has also freshened a bit as we moved into the late
morning and early afternoon hours. The average speed for the day
so far is around 12mph. Gusts increased in frequency and speed by
late this morning with a peak gust for the day so far of 30mph,
which occurred just after 10:30am this morning.
Visibility has been very good today, starting the day at around
80 miles, but dropping a bit to around 60 miles for the balance
of the day through early this afternoon.
The maximum temperature so far today is 49F degrees, which is
8 degrees below the normal high of 57F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 37F degrees, which is 3 degrees below the
normal low of 40F.
