OVERNIGHT AND EARLY MORNING RAIN ENDS, FAIR WEATHER THEREAFTER….

Periods of showers that began yesterday afternoon continued
through the overnight hours and into early this morning. 0.59″
of rain was measured from this latest event, bringing the
monthly total up to 4.56″ and the yearly total to 32.55″.
These values represent a 1.64″ surplus and 9.04″ deficit
respectively.

Once the rain moved out and the fog lifted, a mainly cloudy
day with some splashes of sun here and there has been the
theme. Temperatures have warmed nicely into the mid 60s into
early this afternoon, however a cooler and drier air mass is
now moving into the region from the west and southwest of all
directions!

The dew point has finally started to decline from it’s morning
values in the upper 50s, now dropping through the mid to low
50s. These values will continue to drop, likely into the 30s,
by tomorrow morning!

The wind has been busy today out of the southeast early, but it
has been gradually veering toward the southwest this afternoon.
The average speed for the day thus far is around 12mph with a
peak gust this afternoon of 34mph so far!

Visibility has been gradually improving since the fog lifted.
Ranging from 1/16th of a mile this morning to 40 miles so far
this afternoon. I suspect the value will continue to improve
as the drier air mass continues to move into the area.

The high so far today is 66F, which is 5 degrees above the
normal maximum of 61F. The low since midnight is 57F,
which is 14 degrees above the normal low of 43F.
