MUCH IMPROVED WEATHER COMPARED TO OVER THE WEEKEND, STILL ON THE
CHILLY SIDE HOWEVER….

Skies started the day clear with only a few clouds of various types
and heights, however as the morning progressed, the mid and upper
level clouds increased in coverage with low level clouds following
suit by late morning. All in all there has been a mix of sun and
clouds today, which is still much better than the damp and dreary
conditions experienced for parts of the long holiday weekend.

Temperatures started the day down in the mid 30s, which is nearly
10 degrees below the normal low for today’s date. Readings have
recovered nicely into the low to mid 50s early this afternoon, but
this is still also below normal for the date. Dew point readings
have been generally in the mid to upper 30s all day, adding a chill
to the air.

The wind has been busy today, compared to the light values through
most of yesterday. A west-northwesterly breeze today has been
averaging around 12mph for the day so far. Frequent gusts exceeding
20mph have been occurring throughout the day, with a peak gust thus
far of 27mph occurring during the 1pm observation period.

Visibility has excellent all day, holding at around 80 miles.

The maximum temperature so far today is 54F, which is 7 degrees below
the normal high of 61F. The minimum temperature since midnight is 35F,
which is 9 degrees below the normal low of 44F.
