UNSEASONABLY MILD WITH EARLY MORNING SHOWERS GIVING WAY TO PARTIAL
SUNSHINE…

Light rain showers early this morning only amounted to 0.05″ in
the rain gauge, as such, the dry spell we’ve been in since the
start of October continues for the time being. The precipitation
deficit for the month so far is already approaching 1 inch!

A decent amount of clouds are lingering into this afternoon, but
the trend has been for them to thin out, and an increasing amount
of sunshine is being observed. Temperatures are responding to the
sun and have risen into the low to mid 60s by the 1pm observation.
This is of course around 10 degrees above the expected temperature
for this date.

The dew point has also risen, now into the low to mid 50s. This is
an indication of a much different air mass in place than what we’ve
been experiencing the last few days.

The wind has been busy today with gusts reaching over 30mph this
morning. The direction has veered from the south early this morning
to the west-southwest by early this afternoon. The average speed so
far for the day is around 17mph.

Visibility was quite limited this morning to around 10-15 miles due
to rain showers and thin fog, but has improved somewhat this
afternoon to around 30 miles. With the increased moisture in the
air today, it is rather hazy this afternoon, and I do not expect
much more improvement until the cold front passes this evening.

The maximum temperature so far today is 63F, which is 10 degrees
above the normal high of 53F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 46F, which is 10 degrees above the normal low of 36F.
