CLOUDS QUICKLY ADVANCE EARLY THIS MORNING, RAIN FOLLOWS BY MID MORNING….
We started the day with a beautiful sunrise as clouds were just
advancing into the area at that time. Clouds continued to increase
and thicken with rain developing just after the 10am observation.
Light rain has continued into early this afternoon with 0.24″ being
measured at 1pm.
Temperatures are on the cool side, rising from the mid 30s early this
morning to the low 40s by late morning and early this afternoon. With
the rain and an increasing breeze, it has become a rather raw feeling
out there.
As mentioned, the wind has increased since this morning. Generally
light speed were observed until the mid morning hours, then it began
to pick up. The average speed for the day so far is around 9mph, but
it has been closer to 15mph in the past hour. Gusts are ramping up
a bit into the mid 20s, with a peak gust so far of 25mph occurring
at 12:20pm.
Visibility started the day at around 70 miles, but of course has
decreased markedly with the onset of the rainfall. The view early
this afternoon has been hanging around 5-6 miles or so.
The maximum temperature for today is 43F degrees, which is 4 degrees
below the normal high of 47F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 35F degrees, which is 4 degrees above the normal low of 31F.
