DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 26, 2013
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME

TEMPERATURES MODERATING ON SW WINDS;
OVERCAST SKY TODAY WITH A COUPLE OF EARLY MORNING FLURRIES

Although still slightly below normal, temperatures have finally moderated
following the very cold weather of the past couple of days. A S-SW wind
direction developed late yesterday afternoon, and has continued through
this afternoon. This has brought a warmer and more moist air mass into the
area. Dew point temperatures have risen from yesterday’s very low values
below zero to the lower 20s today.

Overcast sky conditions have kept temperatures in check, despite the steady
S-SW wind. A few flurries were observed early this morning.

After a very warm start to November, the recent cold has pushed the
temperature departure for the month to more than 1 degree BELOW the
30-year normal.

Nearby Ponkapoag Pond was nearly completely frozen over this morning.
There were only a few small holes in the ice. Nearby Houghton’s
Pond had only slightly more than 10% ice coverage this morning.
