ABUNDANT SUNSHINE AND BREEZY, AND STILL MILDER THAN NORMAL….
Skies have been clear all day with only a few low and high clouds
well off in the distance. Smoke plumes from the fire to the distant
north and the one just to our east continue to be observed.
Temperatures are a bit cooler than yesterday, but have still reached
the mid 50s early this afternoon. This is still a good 6-8 degrees
above the expected high for today. The dew point has been holding
in the mid 30s all day.
Winds have been on the brisk side today, generally out of the north-
west to north-northwest. The average speed for the day to this point
is around 13mph. Gusts are occasionally pushing over the 20mph, but
so far there hasn’t been anything overly impressive. The peak gust
for the day so far is 29mph, which occurred at 10:52am this morning.
Visibility has been excellent today, increasing from 60 miles early
this morning to 80 miles by early this afternoon.
The maximum temperature for today is 56 degrees, which is 7 degrees
above the normal high of 49F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 39F degrees, which is 6 degrees above the normal low of 33F.
