BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA

DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 2019
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME

FIRST SNOW OF THE SEASON OCCURRING TODAY AT BLUE HILL…

A strong cold front has passed through the region early this
afternoon bringing with it rain, and now some snow. Rain began
falling late this morning accumulating to 0.06″ as of the 1 P.M.
observation. Snow began mixing in with the rain just after the
obs, thus bringing us our first trace of snow for the season.
We’ll be on the look out for any potential minor accumulation
on the summit as the afternoon progresses.

The well advertised drop in temperature has now started with the
temperature dropping to 35F degrees so far since the 1 P.M. obs.
The high so far today (and likely to be it) is 42F, which is 9
degrees below the normal high of 51F. The low since midnight is 35F,
but will likely drop well below that before midnight tonight. The
normal minimum for today is 35F.
