OVERNIGHT RAINFALL, TURNED INTO A WARM AND HUMID DAY TODAY….
Rain showers pushed through overnight, some of which were on the
moderate to heavy side at times. 0.51″ of water was left in the
gauge by this morning, bringing the monthly total over 4″ now.
This will ensure the month finishes yet again above normal. As a
matter of fact, every month so far this year with the exception
of February has seen above normal precipitation. The total
departure for the year is now up to 7.35″!
Clouds and fog early this morning gradually broke leaving us
with a mix of sun and clouds into this afternoon. All in all its
been a fairly decent day.
Temperatures have warmed into the upper 70s by the 1pm observation
after starting the day on the mild side with a low of 64F. The
dew point is high today with readings in the mid 60s, so it is
quite humid out there once again today.
Winds have been steady, generally out of the southwest to west-
southwest. The average speed thus far is around 12mph. It has
become gusty early this afternoon with frequent gusts of 25-30mph
occurring, however the peak gust for the day so far was way back
between midnight and 1am with a value of 36mph.
Visibility has been gradually improving from the low values of
early this morning. It was under 1/4 of a mile as we were the
fog very early, but it has gradually improved to near 40 mile
early this afternoon.
The maximum temperature so far today is 79F degrees, which is
9 degrees above the normal high of 70F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 64F degrees, which is 12 degrees above the
normal low of 52F.
