ANOTHER DAY WITH CLOUDS, WIND, AND BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES…
It’s quite raw out there today with cloudy skies, a brisk
northeast wind, chilly temperatures, and periods of drizzle to
add insult to injury. Today is definitely a perfect day for
hot soup or chili!
A large and intense ocean storm continues to churn well to the
southeast of the region, and is responsible for all the wind
and light drizzle.
Temperatures are once again below normal today with readings only
reaching the mid 30s early this afternoon. With the air being
saturated (or nearly at times), it’s making for a very damp and
raw feeling out there. This type of “cold” chills you right to
your bones!
Winds continue to be gusty today mainly out of the northeast.
The average speed for the day so far is around 16mph. Frequent
gusts to around 30mph have been the theme today with a peak gust
so far of 38mph, which occurred just before 12pm.
Visibility has been limited due to areas of drizzle and fog,
generally ranging from 4-15 miles through the course of the day.
The maximum temperature so far today is 35F degrees, which
is 12 degrees below the normal high of 47F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 32F degrees, which is 2 degrees above the
normal low of 30F.
