DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
TUESDAY, MARCH 25, 2014
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME

UNSEASONABLE COLD AND CONTINUED DRYNESS LINGERS
WITH CLOUDS ON THE INCREASE.

A strong push of Arctic air arrived during the early
morning hours yesterday, bringing with it chilly temperatures
and gusty NW winds. With only a daily maximum of 32F, and
a daily average of 23F, temperatures were 15 degrees below
the 30-year average.

With the approach of tomorrow’s major weather maker clouds have
been on the increase with a thin overcast of cirrostratus
dominating the sky since mid-morning. Although dew points have
remained in the single digits above zero, they too have slowly
been on the increase as moisture slowly moves into the region.

By 1:00 PM EST light distant haze remained visible in all
directions keeping visibility to 45 miles. Cumulus from the
10:00 AM EST observation had morphed and flattened into
stratocumulus with cirrus fibratus and a thin veil of
cirrostratus. By 1:00 PM a 6-hr maximum of 37F was recorded
along with a minimum of 20F.
