VERY COLD START, BUT A GRADUAL MODERATION OF TEMPS WITH
LIGHT WINDS….
The arctic air mass that moved through the region the last
36 hours or so is gradually releasing it’s grip. While
dew points continue to be very low (single digits), the
temperature today has rebounded compared to yesterday
reaching the mid 30s by early this afternoon under filtered
sunshine.
The wind has been very light today, which is a considerable
change from the past 3 days. Average wind speed since 7 A.M.
has only been around 3 mph!
The other big story of this month is the continuing dry
conditions. The monthly total stands at 0.14″, which is
2.45″ below normal. The yearly total is 8.14″ which is 2.87″
below normal to date. Perhaps we’ll be able to put a little
dent into the deficit late in the week.
The high so far today is 35F, which is 9 degrees below the
normal high of 44F. The low since midnight is 13F, which
is 13 degrees below the daily normal low of 26F.
