SUNNY AND UNSEASONABLE MILD, BUT CONTINUED ON THE WINDY SIDE….
Skies have featured plenty of sunshine all day with only a few high
thin cirrus floating by at times. With temperatures 20 degrees above
normal, it feels like a bonafide spring day out there. However, we
can’t seem to shake the wind as gusts over 30mph are occurring once
again.
As mentioned, temperatures are well above normal today with readings
reaching the low 60s by early this afternoon. With dew point values
in the low to mid 30s, relative humidity levels have dropped below
40%. This is causing an elevated fire risk for today with conditions
continuing to be on the dry side.
Winds are once again on the breezy side out there (starting to sound
like a broken record). A south-southwesterly wind has been averaging
around 14mph for the day so far. Gusts have been reaching into the
30-35mph range at times. The peak gust so far is 37mph, which occurred
just before 1pm.
Visibility was a bit limited this morning, but has improved nicely
by early this afternoon thanks to the lower relative humidity levels.
The view has improved from 30 miles to 60 miles.
The maximum temperature for today is 62F degrees, which is 20 degrees
above the normal high of 42F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 37F degrees, which is 12 degrees above the normal low of 25F.
