HOT WITH SOME CUMULONIMBUS FORMING IN THE AFTERNOON….
The hazy, hot, and humid conditions continue today with
readings getting into the low 90s for the third day in
row. We have officially reached the 3 consecutive days
required to be called a heat wave. Today sealed the deal!
We set a new record high minimum for yesterday’s date. The
low was 69F, the previous record was 66F set back in 1922
and 1953.
The humidity has definitely been more noticable today
with the dew point reaching the low 70’s.
The wind has been light all day, with an average speed
of 7 mph since 7 A.M. The max gust is 19 mph from the
west.
Visibility has been limited all day due to haziness, only
averaging 20 miles.
Building cumulus clouds are starting to pop up, with the
most significant being to the west. On radar, many storms
in western Massachusetts can be seen.
The high so far today is 92F, which is 19 degrees above the
normal high of 73F. The low since midnight is 69F, which is
14 degrees above the daily normal low of 55F.
