SUNNY AND WARM START, BUT INCREASING CLOUDS AND WINDY THIS AFTERNOON….
The day started off spectacular with plenty of sunshine and
temperatures that quickly warmed through the 70s to around
80F. However as the afternoon has progressed, high clouds have
increased and thickened. Also the wind shifted from WSW to SSW
and increased markedly from the light speeds of this morning.
Gusts over 30mph have been occurring since around noon-time.
Another change has been with the dew point. It spent the morning
in the mid 40s, but has risen to the mid 50s by the 1pm
observation. Dew points will continue to rise with values getting
well into the 60s by tomorrow morning.
The clouds and overall increase in moisture is preceding some
much needed rainfall that is expected to start late tonight
into tomorrow.
Visibility has been limited today by haziness. We were able to
see 60 miles early this morning, but it has since reduced to
around 40 miles by late this morning and into this afternoon.
The high so far today is 80F, which is 7 degrees above the
normal maximum of 73F. The low since midnight is 60F, which
5 degrees above the normal minimum of 55F.
